Yes we had an amazing November for the $FAMILY token. Our liquidity pool grew to a total of $80,000 of combined FAMILY-ETH liquidity (x8 of our initial liquidity) after we introduced liquidity mining incentives. There were three liquidity providers eligible for November’s rewards and they’ll be getting their share of the 30,000 FAMILY reward pot within this week.

Even bigger NEWS is that after introducing pledge mining last week, 4 individuals have pledged a total of $40,000 to FAMILY-ETH liquidity pool for the next 6 months, which will help our community with stable growth.
DECEMBER LIQUIDITY REWARDS
If you missed November’s liquidity reward, make sure to jump in the pool for December as we’ve allocated a total of 40,000 FAMILY ($5,200) for the reward pot. December’s liquidity mining starts on December 7th 00:00 UTC, so make sure to add your liquidity (minimum amount is $300 of combined liquidity) before then if you want to be eligible.
To make it fair, no liquidity provider will be able to earn more than 35% of the reward pot, regardless of how much liquidity they’re providing. To be eligible for the rewards, you need to provide a minimum of $300 of combined liquidity ($150 ETH + 150$ FAMILY) and the provision has to stand for the whole of December without falling below the $300 threshold (e.g due to price volatility in ETH). Liquidity mining rewards will be distributed at the end of the month (start of the next one), and the minimum threshold and allocated reward pot will be altered based on market action. Starting December 7th at 00:00am UTC, we’ll be taking snapshots of the liquidity pool in order to keep track of who’s providing liquidity and who’s eligible for the rewards. Snapshots will be taken throughout the rest of the month to ensure nobody games the system.
My kids have been begging for a pet dog for quite a while now. They even made a youtube video about it! They tell me it will be a great addition to our travelling troupe. What is a Doge dog?
Seems that the name “Doge” is not actually a dog breed! Doge is a misspelled version of the word dog and was used to refer to an internet meme that went viral in 2013. The Doge meme shows a picture of a female Shiba Inu with an expressive face and some funny text. People went wild over this meme and everyone started to make their own version of the Doge meme. You can make your own Doge meme here. OK… back to business! So when my kids tell me they want the dog on the Dogecoin, they are really asking for a Shiba Inu.
How did a dog’s face end up on the Dogecoin?
By end 2013, the Bitcoin reached a value of $1,083.14 and people started to take it seriously. Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer thought that cryptocurrency should also be fun and not just about money and serious trading. So they decided to create their own fun altcoin community. They created the Dogecoin, partly as a “joke currency”, based on the happy-looking Shiba Inu pic featured in the Doge meme. The Dogecoin was born! Is the Shiba Inu a good match for the Bitcoin family?
So… back to the dog issue! What does the internet say about this dog breed? What is the Shiba Inu like around family members and in the house, or rather, in a campervan?! Does it match our lifestyle?
The Shiba Inu characteristics
The Shiba Inu is a convenient size, handsome, easy to groom and quiet indoors but that is where the positive points end! Dog breed experts say it is a very challenging dog to raise and train. The Shiba Inu is a high-spirited, “big dog in a small body”, who’s hunting instinct will make it chase anything that moves. It has a mind of its own and will be oblivious to your calls if an interesting sight or scent catches his attention. Its high energy can make it quite destructive when bored or left alone too much. Its excessive suspiciousness can make it turn unsocial and aggressive to new people and dogs if not socialised enough. Not such a good thing for us, since we travel and meet new people all the time! The Shiba Inu will need a confident owner that provides a stable environment and consistent house rules. The worse pitfall is when the Shiba Inu is owned by a big family and each individual has a different set of rules. That’s another deal breaker for our family with three kids! The Shiba Inu`s coat also sheds a lot. Another negative point when living in a campervan!
The result is…
Ok… so that’s it! The Shiba Inu could be a cute dog but it is not for us! My children will not be happy… so maybe I need to redirect them to a breed that is more appropriate for our family. There are these online quizzes that will match a dog breed to your lifestyle. I will get them do a lot of these quizzes and see the outcome. A fun activity that should keep them busy for a while I guess! Haha!

During our European bitcoin tour, we visit all kinds of crypto-related places and test how they work. This time we visited the Kasbah in Oslo and we tried to pay for our drinks with Bitcoin through our Mister Tango card.It amazes us that more and more shops, bars and restaurants accept crypto as a payment method. Also in Norway, there were a few places we could pay with our crypto. To be honest we expected Norway to have more places but we also know that we are just at the beginning of the crypto adoption curve and that this will change in the near future.

We visited Sweden and Bitcoin acceptance is at an average rate. In the big cities, you can find some places that accept Bitcoin or other currency. We still had some Bitcoin Cash left so we went to a bar that accepted Bitcoin Cash. We wanted to know why they didn’t accept Bitcoin so we asked. In the opinion of one of the employees, people are not spending their Bitcoin because they expect is to increase in value and because of the transaction speed and fees. Will in the feature Bitcoin become a store of value and will we use Bitcoin Cash for our daily Payments? I don’t know but we will probably know real soon. Maybe the Bitcoin Cash fork wasn’t because of a disagreement and maybe all the forks are well planned. Then Bitcoin will be the store of value, Bitcoin Cash will be used for daily payments and Bitcoin private will be used for the private transactions.
I hope it was all planned and if not in the future BTC, BCC and BTCP will understand that if they work together in the future and accept each other’s qualities and role in the new monetary system they will be the strongest. Let me know your thoughts!

Wat was het weer een geweldige belevenis om te mogen deelnemen aan een televisieshow. Dit keer waren we uitgenodigd door Pauw en zaten we aan tafel met Jeroen Pauw, André van Duin, Özcan Akyol, Bente Becker en Wouter de Winther. De eerste paar minuten waren top, maar zoals verwacht is niet iedereen het eens met onze visie en manier van leven. Wij weten dat wij het anders doen dan de meeste mensen. Wij respecten iedereen voor hoe zij leven en hopen dat mensen onze manier ook respecteren. Dat de uitzending, door een naar onze mening, bekrompen visie de wending krijgt naar een stuk over scholing in plaats van crypto en ons avontuur vonden we jammer maar we zijn dankbaar dat we er mochten zijn.
Wij kregen gisteren echter wel het gevoel dat we niet weg waren geweest. Toen we onze reis 1,5 jaar geleden startte werd al in Nederland gediscussieerd over tekeningen, integratie en cultuurverschillen in ons land. Wordt het niet tijd dat we andere culturen gaan respecteren voor hun manier van leven en in oplossingen gaan denken? Misschien kunnen wij als nederlanders wat leren van deze culturen en af en toe ook eens protesteren tegen zaken die ons opgedrongen worden en dat we niet zomaar overal in meegaan. De politiek kan zich beter druk maken over de inhoud en manier van scholen van onze kinderen. Kijk eens hoeveel pubers er rond lopen met een depressie of burnout. Ligt dit aan de kids of lopen die gewoon voor in de beleving van scholing. Past de inhoud en huidige manier van scholing nog wel bij de toekomst die we tegenmoet gaan? Onze kinderen zijn de toekomst!
Wij hebben gekozen om een kans die we kregen in ons leven te grijpen en er volledig voor te gaan. Dit heeft ons hele leven op de kop gezet en het is een waanzinnig avontuur. Onze mening is; grijp de kansen die je krijgt en laat je niet gek maken door de mening en druk van anderen. Denk je dat wij gisteren bij Pauw aan tafel hadden gezeten als we gewoon ons leven waren blijven leven zoals we dat al jarenlang deden? Waanzinnig trouwens om aan tafel te zitten met Andre van Duin! Effe wachten Pizza hahaha. Wat een positieve persoonlijkheid.
Bitcoin geeft ons de mogelijkheid om plaats onafhankelijk te werken, onze kinderen de wereld te laten zien en hun op te leiden tot vrije, creatieve, innovatieve kinderen. Juist die kinderen hebben we nodig in een toekomst waar artificial intelligence (lees robots) het standaard werk gaan doen. Wij hebben kids nodig die ruimdenkend zijn, applicaties en oplossingen kunnen bedenken voor het geautomatiseerde werk dat in de toekomst verricht wordt door deze Ai. Wij zijn dan ook van mening dat scholen in Nederland de kids nog steeds opleiden volgens een manier die afstamt uit de industrialisatie periode. De periode waarin we, niet te veel nadenkend, maar uitvoerend personeel nodig hadden. Gelukkig zijn er wel al scholen, zoals de Rudolf Steiner en Agora die zich al meer richten op het nieuwe onderwijs.
Wij hebben de kans gekregen om als gezin, de wereld rond te reizen en ook nog eens crypto te verdienen. Die kans wilden wij niet laten lopen vanwege een bekrompen manier van denken over schoolplicht. We vinden het dus jammer dat we gisteren onze visie over het leven en crypto niet beter hebben kunnen toelichten. Enkele reacties aan tafel voldeden niet aan de normen en waarden die wij onze kids willen bijbrengen maar we zijn super trots dat onze 12 jarige dochter zonder “standaard scholing“ voor 800.000 kijkers op een respectvolle en verstandige manier reageerde. Wij willen Pauw bedanken voor de uitnodiging en jullie danken voor het kijken.

A short story about how life can bring you together without even knowing it did. We have been on Koh Phangan for 3 months now and we met many very interesting people. A few days ago we again had a strange story of serendipity.
Our youngest daughter Jessa has been playing with Antalia, a French girl, for 2 months now. We met the parents but we just daily greeted each other. The family has been traveling for 5 years now and was in Nepal some time ago. In Nepal a friend of them told them about crypto and that there was a family that sold everything they had to buy Bitcoin. Since then they talked a lot about Bitcoin and whether to buy it or not.At that moment we have been staying for 2 months in the same resort without them knowing that we were this family they heard about in Nepal.

A few days ago a French friend visited them in the resort and brought them some French magazines to read. One of the magazines was Society and we were in it. They recognized Jessa from the picture and then realized they were greeting us for 2 months without knowing we were the family they previously heard of. They immediately came to us and told the story how they heard about us. We laughed about it and agreed that meeting each other was meant to be. Of course, they quickly started asking questions about whether to buy Bitcoin or not. I started to tell our story, our view on crypto and what we did.They decided to buy Bitcoins because meeting us couldn’t be a coincidence.
It’s so strange how life seems to connect people to each other at the right moment. Why did Ishare this with you? Because 1). To show you how huge Bitcoin is becoming and that even in Nepal in the mountains people talk about it. 2) How things, that seem to randomly happen, often happen for a reason, serendipity.
Break the circle
If you take time to look around and pay attention to people, you are able to see amazing things you would not have seen if you just run the hamster wheel. If you walk the same circle every day and if you are continuously living in your head it’s not easy to spot the magic of life.
Start discovering the world and just break the circle you live in, create some space and open up to new amazing things in life. And no you don’t have to start traveling the world for this. You could, for example, next Monday after work, not directly go home but stop somewhere randomly on the way back and to take a walk in a village where you would normally not stop. Say hello to new people and have a short chat with them or offer to help somebody that needs it at that moment. Just see how it feels and if you like that feeling.You wouldn’t have felt like that if you just drove past that village to get home as fast as possible to continue the daily routine. These small things will make you realize that there is more to life than just running the hamster wheel.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve written a blog, but to be honest I’ve been very busy. Very busy Koh Phangan? Yes many crypto meetings, again made a nice documentary, some interviews and inspired many to start in crypto etc. And most importantly also just occasionally I did just nothing.
We have a few exciting days coming up in terms of bitcoin. If bitcoin will to break the border of $11.400 and closes above this limit, the chances are very big that we are going to have a bull run that can end up somewhere between $ 16,000 and $18,000. If then the second layer applications and blockchains for BTC will work in the near future, in my opinion we will easily reach the goals I already shared earlier which were higher than $ 30.000 this year. Exciting but also fun times. hahaha
In the last months I also joined the www.moneytoken.com. team as an advisor I became advisor for them because I just love their concept and I think it can build a bridge between money and crypto. Another thing I would like to discuss with you is exchanges. I think that there maybe will be a major shift from centralized exchanges to decentralized exchanges. Decentralized exchanges are important for the future of crypto because they allow you to swap coins using Atomic swaps without keeping your coins on an exchange and so you have full control on all private and public keys. Ok that was it for now and if I can give a tip then I would not trade too much and wait to see what BTC is going to do, because as you know; As bitcoin climbs the alts will dip, as bitcoin decreases the alts will dip and only if bitcoin remains stable then the alts climb as well. I expect a BTC bull run so I keep as much as possible in BTC. But please also keep an eye on LTC because it could give us a nice surprise as well.

The man started laughing and was like, man thats fake, thats something what will disappear very soon. You and your family will go bankrupt and will end up with nothing. Pointing at his real beautiful and big gold necklace he said, this is worth money and will never go away. Bitcoin isn’t backup up by anything and so it can’t be worth something. Its only for computernerds and will never be accepted as a standard payment method.
I needed to control myself and so I just responded with lets see what the future will bring us. Off course I could have responded in a other way because I really don’t agree with him. The thing is that I have had these discussions many times now and I learned that when people react this aggressively negative they are just afraid off the changes they need to face. I think this is the problem with many people, companies, governments etc. They are so afraid of revolutionary innovations that wil change the future that their first reaction is aggressively negative.
The same way they reacted when internet came in the 90’s. It was just for criminals and porno and they where sure that nobody would send all there post by e-mail in the near future. Maybe office Clercqs and nerds would use email but not the average person. Watching television on a mobile was never going to be possible and was just for star wars movies. Looking at the earth or even streets with google maps was a ridiculous idea and could only be seen if you were an astronaut. I could mention 1000 things like this and so could you. It seems tat every time a revolution is born the first few years 80% of people fight against it and 20% of the people understand that it will change the world and support it.
Why fear?
Why is this ? Why do people always fight against the unknown? Why do people not embrace the unknown and live by the day and support innovative exiting new things?
FEAR is the answer. People lost contact with their inner-self and are just to afraid to follow their guts of which they know it is right in most of the cases. This is something that schools should teach our children. They should teach our children how to feel and how to live life and embrace exiting new things instead of walking around like small Robots repeating what third parties told them. Kids should be taught to use their creativity and passion instead of suppressing it and replacing it with lust for materialism. When Kids finish schools they think they are only successful when they have the best job, a big house, a few cars and 1.000.000 instagram followers that want the same life. Is this really how we want our kids to be ?
To be clear I am not blaming the schools for this fear, that is rooted deeply inside all of us, but schools could make a difference and start changing their approach. Our children have the future is a saying and thats why we chose to show our children a different life and we just hope they will follow and pass this on to their children. And yes of course I understand that we are part of those 20% in the world that embrace new things but we think blockchain, crypto and many other applications on this amazing technology will soon contribute to a shift in these percentages. More and more people will realize that life can be lived different.
Blockchain and Crypto are real game changers. I understand the old German guy and I feel his fear but he and many other people need to understand that blockchain and crypto are here to stay and will change this world like the industrialization and the internet did. Just take some time every day to read about how crypto and blockchain are changing things and just google a bit and see how many websites, companies, foundations, shops etc are being build because of crypto and blockchain. read about how big companies like Expedia, Microsoft, Virgin, Wikipedia, Tesla , Subway and Shopify already accept crypto as a payment method. Why would they do this ? Because they think it is something that will soon disappear? And please understand that all the negative news is needed to slow down this (r)evolution so everybody has time to adapt to this new technology.
Believe me this change will even be bigger than the internet and will influence our lives in a way than we can’t imagine at this point.
But what are we so afraid of and what can we loose ?
Yes off course you can loose some money but there also is a chance you will win some because of crypto. More importent is that you will win freedom, independency and control of your own money by supporting this crypto revolution
Just question yourself if this 2nd car, new laptop, life savings plan or bigger house is so important ? Or is it more important that you support our freedom, independency and control on money? Maybe you should diversify a bit and invest a % of your capital in crypto or buy a cheaper 2nd car so you won’t miss this boat, or train, no let’s call it a spaceship that soon will launch and change our world.
Start opening doors and look behind them to see what is there instead of waiting in front of this closed door because you are afraid that if you walk through, that ……… ………. Yes tell me how should I end this sentence? What are you afraid of, if you walk through this door?
Are you afraid that if you close the door, everything you left behind, will be gone if you return ?
Are you afraid that the door doesn’t open again if you want to go back ?
Nothing will change, you will only discover that after every choice you can make new choices again and again and again.
I really don’t understand this FEAR but it must feel like for example bungee jumping. You are climbing up that stairs and then at the top and even if you know nothing can go wrong but you still you get a bit afraid of jumping (yes there is a small risk that the rope will break). You feel the tension building up and a crazy feeling in you stomach and your mind starts to play games with you and you start talking to yourself. You start doubting to jump or just walk back. But then you jump and feel this amazing feeling of joy without thinking of anything else. Just joy and you are proud you did it. So yes new things can be scary but most of times if you take the step the result is amazing. Now the same situation, you again walk up this stairs and at the end you don’t jump because of fear. Your friends do jump and afterwards tell you how amazing it was. How do you feel then ?
With crypto there is no chance the rope brakes and that you die but just a chance that you loose some money. As you probably know money comes and money go’s. Yes we as a family took a huge jump and I am not telling you to do the same, but we just think that if it go’s wrong we can always start over again and start a new adventure. We were not afraid of opening this door and looking behind it and we were sure we didn’t want the things that we left behind. We wanted a new life. Maybe that’s what made it more easy for us.
Lucky later that day on the beach I met some dutch guys and girls, around 29 years old from Rotterdam and The Hague (den haag). Ik chatted with them as well about crypto and they understood the need and meaning of crypto and have way less fear and even now one or two things about it. Man that I could chat some dutch about crypto made my day hahahaha. Oh yeah and not to forget the hand reading fortuneteller on the beach who offered to read my hand. I said, sorry I don’t have money, only bitcoin and even he new about bitcoin and what it was and was positive about it. So at the end of the day I had a satisfied feeling of more and more people knowing what Bitcoin is and even understanding the importance of it.
Yep, just a typical day on the beach which used to be so relaxt but now not a day go’s by that somebody speaks to me about Bitcoin and to be honest I am glad they do.
To the old German guy I just wanna say;
Wir werden sehen wie der Zukunft aussieht aber Bitte hab keinen angst fur neue Sache und verkauf die Golden Kette und kauf Bitcoin davon. Innerhalb ein par Jähr können sie ein par golden Kette kaufen hahaha. ( we will see how the Future will look but don’t fear new things and please sell that golden necklace and buy bitcoin. In a few years you can probably buy many necklaces from the profit.

Wow where do we need to start? 2017 was such an inspiring, exiting and strange year at the same time, that I even don’t know what to say.
Our world trip gave us so much insight in life and the important things in life that we were able to take the steps we took. At first we didn’t think we were doing something special because we naturally grew into this phase of our lives of accepting minimalism as a way of life. Yes of course we know not everybody would trust Bitcoin as much as we do, but because of all the media attention and real nice messages from people all over the world we slowly started to realize we really did something special in the eyes of many. Yes we went all-in and we don’t have any money anymore because everything is in crypto. Off course we were a bit afraid when we sold our company, house, cars and all other things but to be honest it didn’t change much, except media wise, to our life. We are still living a normal life but now on a campsite and we have some crypto which at the moment is worth 5 times more then we started but we also realize that it can be 5 times less as well. We still have the same family and friends and still breath the same air and take a shit on a toilet. hahaha
If there are 3 things we would like to share with you for 2018:
Stop making decisions out of fear for the unknown and start making decisions out of your heart, dreams and passion.
Materialism is not needed for happiness.
Blockchain will revolutionize many things in the world incl. the monetary system and crypto will be the next step in the evolution of money.
When you make a choice to go left at an certain point, afterwards there will again be the choice to go left or right. So every choice you make does not determine your whole future. There are always new possibilities and ways that you can’t even think of right now.
Do you really think a year ago we as a family could have ever predicted that at the moment we would be a homeless, minimalism, crypto loving family that has been in the news internationally. That we would have been in television shows, people have filmed documentaries about us, we are writing a book now and even had a request for exclusive rights for a movie ?
No, we could have never known this but it shows that if you chose to change your life it doesn’t have to be negative and will probably work out well. Life has to be about connecting with people, exploring the world, yourself and many other things. Life isn’t just about work and running the hamster wheel to get as much luxury items as possible. And yes we know many of you think, but we have to save money or invest in buildings etc. for a secure future. To those we want to say:
Wake up! We can’t change the past and we surely can’t predict the future. Start living now and enjoy every moment instead of worrying about the future or past.
Off course we wish you all a very happy and most important healthy 2018, but let’s start with enjoying this last day of 2017 with our friends and/or family and we will see what 2018 brings us.
